The 6th Cross border Elderly Care Seminar
The captioned seminar with a theme of “The Opportunities of Cross-border Medical Services under Cross-border Elderly Care” was successfully held on 8 December 2017 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, with a record of over one hundred attendants. The event was organized by The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation, Helping Hand, Hong Kong Association of Gerontology, Institute of Active Ageing and The Centre for Gerontological Nursing of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Sau Po Centre on Ageing of The University of Hong Kong and Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies of Lingnan University.
The guests speakers, Mr. Antony LEUNG Kam-chung (Group Chairman of Nan Fung Group & New Frontier Group), Ms. CHANG King-yiu JP, (Permanent Secretary for Labour and Welfare of Labour and Welfare Bureau), Dr. LAM Ching-choi, BBS, JP (Chairman of Elderly Commission) and Mr. WONG Kwok-kin, SBS, JP (Vice President of The Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions) expressed their views on the theme from the respective perspectives of private sector, government, healthcare industry, and political party.
Dr. LAM Ching-choi and representatives from the Organizing Committee of the Seminar including Dr. Joseph KWOK, Dr. Edward LEUNG, Dr. Angela LEUNG, Dr. Vivian LOU and Dr. Maggie LAU raised several options of cross border medical services for further discussion during the round table discussion.
