CyberRun for Rehab: Healthy Steps in Cyberport

Co-organised by The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation and Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, “CyberRun for Rehab: Healthy Steps in Cyberport” was organised today (8 November), and we are honoured to have invited Dr. Ko Wing-man, Secretary for Food and Health to be our officiating guest.
CyberRun for Rehab has entered its 12th year, aiming at raising fund for supporting the provision of rehabilitation services of HKSR in Mainland China and Hong Kong. Our services include rehabilitation training consultancy, social and mental support service, and community rehabilitation professional training for the promotion of community-based rehabilitation.
The event has attracted over a thousand participant, including persons who are visually impaired, persons with chronic illnesses and persons with physical disabilities. It is hoped that community-based rehabilitation and social inclusiveness can be promoted, as well as to encourage the public to take action and walk ten thousand steps a day that they can establish a healthy lifestyle and live a positive life. This year we have introduced a 7km run and walk route, starting from Ap Lei Chau and ending at Cyberport.
CyberRun has helped HKSR raise over 9 million throughout the years. Through a cross-disciplinary team including social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses and volunteers, HKSR aimed at providing support and facilitating changes of persons with disabilities along with their family members, living environment, and community, minimising barriers in all aspects as well as striving for the equal opportunity of social participation of them.
For years, our co-organiser Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited has not only offered their enthusiastic support by sponsoring the venue and providing relevant support, but has also proactively encouraged the participation of tenants and staff of Cyberport.
Representative Mr. Han Man-chun of our Diamond Sponsor 燃亮希望有限公司had attended the cheque transfer ceremony, expressing their support to HKSR work of community rehabilitation training.

Over a thousand citizens participated in Healthy Steps in Cyberport in pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. Persons with disabilities took steps to raise fund for the rehabilitation work in Mainland China and Hong Kong to provide rehabilitation training for persons with disabilities and persons with chronic illnesses.
